Stage: Competition Finished

How to Enter?

Simply tell us about a research project or idea in a video of three minutes or less. Introduce yourself, the research idea using the Wave Gliders and its broader importance. We want the world to learn and be inspired by your research, so pitch your submissions to a general audience. There are no limitations on the style of video created to introduce you and your research idea.

Awarding the winner?

The winning research project will be awarded via an open-vote. Valid entries with most votes at the end of the voting period will be guaranteed a $2000 cash prize.

Use of the Wave Gliders

The use of the wave gliders by the winner will be subject to location and engineering constraints, so is not guaranteed.  We will do all we can to support the pursuit of the idea using the wave gliders, however unforseen large costs/skills involved regarding integration or transportation may limit our ability to support the research idea.  However, we guarantee a $2000 research grant to the winning researcher to help their current research, irrespective of whether the wave gliders can be used.

Who can Enter?

Researchers 18 years or older from anywhere around the world are all welcome to apply. Students, post-docs and early to mid-career researchers are especially encouraged to apply, but the award is open to all researchers. Independent researchers are also encouraged to apply. All researchers need to update their broad field of expertise in their Thinkable public research profile.
